1. Medical Insurance

The Ministry of Education of China stipulates that health insurance for international students are mandatory. Students can buy the health insurance in Ping An Insurance (Group) Company of China.

Health insurance fee: 600RMB/year/person

2. Registration Fee

For the 1st school year 320 RMB, the 2nd school year and after 100 RMB.

3. Accommodation

(1) Living in the International Student Apartment

Freshman should live in the international students’ apartment. Lodgers should pay in full the accommodation fee and room guarantee fee upfront, and sign the safety commitment. The accommodation fee will be charged annually.

The defaulting lodger will be extra-charged with 5% overdue fine 10 days after payment deadline, 10% overdue fine within 30 days, and 20% for over 30 days.

Lodging students cannot switch rooms without permission. Those who need switch rooms should obtain permission 2 weeks beforehand. The apartment manager will reallocate the rooms based on circumstances. Those who live in a suite should obey the beds allocation of the dormitory managing staff. Those who refuse allocation or deny a roommate must pay the accommodation fee for a whole room. The accommodation fee will be fully settled on the day when the lodger returns the keys.

Dormitory and Charging Standard

(I) General Introduction

The International Student Apartment is a 5-storied building with 46 suites, 20 standard single rooms, and 10 single rooms.

Girls will be allocated into the top floor and west of the 4th floor, and boys into the 2nd, 3rd and east of the 4th floor. ISA office will adjust the allocation based on the gender ratios.

(II) Room Configuration

● Every suite includes 2 bedrooms, 1 guest room, 1 bathroom, 1 lavatory. Each bedroom is furnished with 1 air conditioner, 2 desks, 2 chairs, 2 wardrobes. The guest room is furnished with 1 dining table, 2 chairs. The bathroom is furnished with 1 shower. All dormitories are furnished with heating system.

● The standard single room is furnished with 1 air-conditioner, 2 desks, 2 chairs, 2 wardrobes, 2 beds, 1 lavatory with shower.

● The single room is furnished with 1 air-conditioner, 2 desks, 2 chairs, 2 wardrobes.

● Each floor has 2 public kitchens with each furnished with 1 fridge and 2 magnetic ovens, 2 washing rooms with each furnished with a washing machine, 2 public toilets.

● The student floors are furnished also with public bathrooms in public toilets.

(III) Room Fees

1. Beddings are not included.

2. The electricity quota for each suite is 2400 KWH, for each single room 1200 KWH. Extra usage will be covered by shared lodgers.

3. If a lodger does not want to share a suite bedroom with others, the accommodation fee will be 9200 RMB/year. For a single room without bath, the fee goes at 6000, for a standard single room, the fee goes at 10,000.

4. Internet service fee goes at 50 RMB/per socket, and monthly payment goes at 20. The user must pay at least 4 months to have the access.

5. Those who study less than 2 months will be charged by days. Each day goes at 100 RMB/room. The apartment will provide cleaning service and bedding.

(IV) Application for lodging

● International students can apply for the above dorms to the ISA office based on their own needs.

● The dorms and beds are carefully allocated by the competent administrator based on payment order or other considerations, therefore cannot be switched by the lodgers.

● Lodgers should observe apartment rules and regulations closely, and take care of apartment facilities. The delinquent will be fined accordingly.

● The University offers Master School Card to new lodgers for free, which must be used for going in and out of the apartment gate. The card can be remade at the office 102 with 20 RMB when missing, and must be returned when the lodger leaves the apartment.

● Lodgers need pay 500 room guarantee fee before checking in. When the lodger leaves permanently, the fee can be fully refunded on the condition that all the apartment properties used stay intact. The damaged properties will be compensated at their prices.

(2) Living off-Campus

(A) Off-campus Residence Registration

Sophomore or senior students who have good school record can apply for living off-campus on account of necessity. If approved, the applicant should sign the safety agreement on living off-campus with the university, and make a pledge to safeguard his or her own safety and properties. Whatever happens off campus will be at the student’s own cost.

(B) Off-campus residence application procedure:

1. Sign the lease contract with the house owner, make sure the house is in the right hand, the contract is invulnerable and legal.

2. Register the contract in the ISA office in the Off-Campus Residence Form.

3. Go to the jurisdictional district police station for the Temporary Residence Form.

4. With the Temporary Residence Form, go to the ISA office for necessary documents as required by the Entry and Exit regulations of China.

5. Always remember to inform the ISA office when changing locations, and complete necessary forms.
