About Xi'an Shiyou University
Xi’an Shiyou University （XSYU）, founded in the year 1951, is a multidisciplinary university characterized by the education of petroleum and petro-chemical science. As a university entitled to accept Chinese government scholarship students by the Ministry of Education of China, XSYU is jointly-sponsored by Shaanxi provincial government and three major Chinese companies, namely, CNPC （China National Petroleum & Gas Corporation）, SINOPEC Group （China Petrochemical Corporation）, and CNOOK （China National Offshore Oil Corporation）； moreover, it’s also one of the High-level Universities Key-constructed and Key-supported in the Twelfth Five-year Plan by Shaanxi Government.XSYU has a floor space of 2207.15 mou （147 hectares or 365 acres）, with its fixed assets value at 1.67 billion.XSYU consists of 17 colleges and departments, provides 56 undergraduate programs, 58 postgraduate programs and 1 joint doctorate program, with more than 1600 teaching and administrative staff, including 500 strong professors and associate professors, 300 strong master or doctoral supervisors. XSYU yearly hosts 20,000 strong full-time residing students.Xi’an Shiyou University has long-standing cooperation and exchange with 39 universities from countries like the USA, the Great Britain, Germany, and Russian, etc. Currently, XSYU offers undergraduate programs both in Chinese and English medium, postgraduate programs in Chinese, Chinese language programs, refresher courses and so on. Of later, XSYU enrolls more than 300 international students on a yearly basis.
